SALE TURF CLUB SETS THE PACE WITH NEW FACILITIES

Thursday 13, June

The Sale Turf Club will be the toast of the town this winter with a new public bar and extended facilities now open to the East Gippsland community, thanks to a joint funding package worth more than $522,000.

Parliamentary Secretary for Jobs and Member for Eastern Victoria Jane Garrett welcomed the opening the new facilities, which are funded in part by $250,000 from the Andrews Labor Government’s Victorian Racing Industry Fund.

The infrastructure upgrades include the extension of the existing public bar, installation of a new kitchen and catering equipment, new toilets and new audio-visual equipment.

The enhancements have improved accessibility, safety and hospitality for visitors to the club, and will deliver an enhanced raceday experience all year round for participants and patrons alike.

Racing Victoria and Country Racing Victoria together provided $25,000 towards the upgrades, while the Sale Turf Club provided more than $247,000 in funding.

Since 2014, the Labor Government has provided almost $500,000 to support nine infrastructure projects and eight Raceday Attraction Program events for the Sale Turf Club.

The Labor Government is also continuing to deliver for racing enthusiasts with the Victorian Budget 2019/20 providing a $72 million boost for local racing infrastructure, racing initiatives and the raceday attraction program.
