Sale City Football and Netball Club, Longford Cricket Club, Sale and District Touch Association and Stratford Tennis Club will be enjoying modern sports facilities thanks to a funding boost from the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Eastern Victoria, Jane Garrett today announced $800,000 for a new pavilion at the Stephenson Park Recreation Reserve in Sale, and $250,000 for court upgrades at Pine Lodge Recreation Reserve in Stratford from the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.

The new pavilion will have female-friendly change rooms helping clubs cater for the increasing number of women and girls signing up to local sports.

The extended and resurfaced tennis courts at Stratford will provide a great venue for local tennis to grow its junior and senior ranks, as well as stage local programs and district competition.

The Wellington Shire Council was also acknowledged for their commitment and financial contribution to the project.

The $180 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is helping develop new sport and recreation infrastructure, and rejuvenate grounds and ageing clubrooms across Victoria.

Across Victoria the Labor Government has invested more than $850 million in community sport and recreation infrastructure since 2014.
